Course description
CUWN focuses on lightweight access points, controllers and the advanced feature set. This course provides you with the experience you need to plan, deploy and manage enterprise WLANs using the Cisco Unified Wireless Network solution.

After a quick overview of the Cisco’s Unified Network Solution, the course focuses on covering the components, features and deployment of the system, including CLI and controller web configurations, Open and Web Authentication configurations, and end-to-end 802.1X configurations. The course then covers the Cisco Wireless Control System (WCS), with comprehensive hands-on labs covering such topics as managing the WLAN controller using WCS, using WCS templates, creating admin accounts, configuring the WLAN controller, importing and working with maps, and using WCS to perform administrative functions on the deployed wireless network. The course finishes by covering the maintenance of a WLAN by utilizing the Cisco Unified WLAN Network solution, including detailed troubleshooting methodologies and debugging tools.

  • Identify the functionality of Cisco access point hardware
  • Describe the function and operation of Cisco LWAPP
  • List the properties of the Auto RF function
  • List the three interfaces used for Cisco wireless hardware management
  • Implement Cisco wireless controller hardware using initial setup and command-line interface
  • Implement Cisco wireless controller hardware using initial setup and web interface
