Course description
Deploying the Cisco MDS 9000 Generation 2 introduces the next generation of MDS 9000 hardware and software, including SAN-OS 3.0, the MDS 9513, and the new 4-Gbps and 10-Gbps line cards.

You will learn about important new features in the Generation 2 platform, including Bandwidth Reservation, Autonomous Fabrics, FCIP Transport Optimization, and Network-Based Storage Applications.

  • Install and configure Generation 2 hardware
  • Describe enhancements to System Management in SAN-OS 3
  • Explain changes to zoning and IVR in SAN-OS 3

  • Configure traffic priority with enhanced QoS
  • Optimize FCIP performance with Write and Tape Acceleration
  • Deploy large-scale iSCSI wth iSCSI Server Load Balancing
  • Describe the network-based and network-accelerated storage applications for the MDS 9000 Storage Services Module
